Man arrested after reported home invasion rape and robbery [Broken External Image] Brandon Cleo Powell Published: 10/28/2010 11:26 AM Police arrested a man in connection with a home invasion robbery and rape that the victim said happened after she did not have any cash to give the robber. Brandon Cleo Powell, 23, was booked into the Tulsa Jail Wednesday night on complaints of first-degree burglary and first-degree rape as well as two complaints of armed robbery, Two women reported to police that they were robbed and one of the victims was raped on Oct. 10 by a man who broke into an apartment in the 2500 block of East 37th Street North. Neither woman knew the attacker who took pocket change and a cellular phone from them, Sgt. Mark Mears said. Police received the 911 call after the attack about 3:30 a.m. that morning. Three adults and two children were in the house at the time, but only two women encountered the robber. The women reported that a man wearing a mask with a skeleton design on it who was armed with a handgun entered the back door of the apartment and demanded cash. Mears said that the victim told police that she was sexually assaulted, because she told him she did not have any cash to give him. Mears said that police received a Crime Stoppers tip following the attack and Detective Rodney Russo followed up on it. The investigation led to Powell being identified as a suspect, he said. Powell met with police Wednesday night and then was interviewed at the Detective Division. A Sex Crimes detective arrested him after Powell confessed to entering the unlocked apartment without consent, robbing the victims while armed with a gun and sexually assaulting one of the women, according to an arrest report.
