This has been a turn around year for our turkey. We went from a 50+ flock that was in our yard almost every evening to nothing about 5 years ago.We live in the middle of around a thousand acres where no hunting is allowed by the landowners. The Arkansas river is 1 mile away, so there is water, plus a couple of ponds that are nearer.Last year we saw a few hens and maybe two poults. This year, the numbers have quadrupled with flocks of hens and other flocks of a half dozen toms coming around. We have our fingers crossed that the population continues to increase.
