[QUOTE="ZombieHunter, post: 2009459, member: 5791"] To answer your questions 1) No because we allowed the major corporations to create legislation through lobbying that gives them ULTIMATE POWER, Oil and Gas is a LARGELY unregulated market, what I mean by that is yes their is Environmental concerns, but I can personally go Lease Minerals from land Owners, turn around and sell off the lease rights to an Exploration and Production company for 500% profit, they in turn will turn around and sell it off for 1000% profit, do not dispute this unless you have copies of Mineral Lease's to show me to prove it, and even then, they are the EXCEPTION not the rule which is above. 2) Yes anything given to these corporations is a handout, do you think Apple needs corporate subsidies to build a new Campus in California? No but they will get it! We are talking about a company worth 100 biillion CASH!!!! And they will receive .Government subsidies and also use the Double Dutch Tax Method like every other Corporation of Greed. 3) Yes their is alternatives, but our country is again BOUGHT AND PAID FOR, in the 1930's their was this plant called HEMP that our government REQUIRED our farmers to grow for war efforts, once the major corporations of the day, being DUPONT and American Steel, realized that this plant could replace domestic oil production AND cotton production AND create a polymer stronger than steel from waste by-product, they shut it down with racial prejudice and a fear campaign designed to brainwash the population into thinking it was ONLY A DRUG! And the public bough it hook line and sinker. Do you know that if we used hemp based plastics instead of petroleum based, we would not have the issues with our atmosphere and watershed from those production facilities, because as they exist now they literally have free reign to dumb heavy metal laced chemicals that are destroying the very planet they need to sustain life, so they can profit in the future, but no one looks farther ahead than their own mortality.
