That's a great find. They don't come available in that condition very often.
The factory PC Magna grips are a nice plus. I believe the only N frames to have them were the 58 and the 520. I happened into a pair that somehow found their way onto a Model 28 that I won in an online auction some time ago.
There is such a thing as the .41 Special. Same case length as the .44 and .38 Specials. You can order brass from Starline and I'm sure you can find reload data online. It'd be a superb cartridge to shoot in a S&W 57 or 58.
Btw that's a sweet M58 OP. This gun has been on my want list for years.

ONe step closer: the shipper now has possession and it would take three days to get to my dealer in Medford.
Very nice, I have never owned a model 58.
Yup. Up around Northern Oklahoma and much of southern Kansas as well, I hear they call him, Gary "Chick Magnet" Gerhard.
Just picked it from the dealer. The timing is good, it has a good smooth action and the finish is not at all bad. I had originally intended to shoot it today but I have too much to do around the house. Probably Wednesday.
Nice one! I love the 41 round, currently own 3 myself...a Marlin lever, Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8", and a 4" no dash model 57
Looking forward to the range report!
