I make lots of knives for other people but finally made a hunting knife for myself. I was pushed a little by my buddies making fun of me for making knives yet always carrying a Buck in the field.

Blade is D2 tool steel and used Buckeye for the handle. My plans are for this one to be my carry knife for all my big game hunts.

No I need your help. Who would you recommend to make a good, heavy duty sheath? I'm thinking a canted horizontal sheath for comfort while in the vehicle, sitting on the ground, etc.

Look up Alan Johnston or 76 Leather on the facebooks. His brother Dave owns Diamond D Leather Custom Leather in Alaska (featured in Guns Magazine, Cabela's, etc) and he spent more than a year there recently learning from him. He's back now, and working out of his house in Blanchard. He could do something for you I'm sure. Tell him his nephew-in-law Ryan sent you.

ETA, the blade is gorgeous btw, scales look amazing.
