Problem was, the politicians put in some "little deferments" that the smart boys could use to stay out of the service. When they went to the Lottery system, it became a little more even, but I was in college, having to maintain a level of grades, and a minimum of hours,  maintained a 40 hour work week, married, and had a kid on the way, and that wasn't  quite enough.Glad I went though.
