1. There is no drama 2. If every open carrier attended an OU football game they would be breaking the law as it is illegal to carry at sporting events. :) 3. You are basing your argument off of some poll that does not constitute a legitimate sample of the target market. 4. You are basing your argument off unsourced data that, if accurate, does not reflect the growing trend. That is, maybe only 3% have it now, but classes are staying full, and applications are flowing in. where will it be in 5-10 years. 5. If only such a small contingent will open carry, why is it such a big deal? 6. Don't assume there will not be a few "das-uber-douche team tactical" dudes that want to look hard and cool and open carry where ever they can. Making people uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I am not against this bill just cautious to inverse reaction from it. We as Gun nuts, enthusiasts, 2nd amendment-ers, whatever you want to call us are comfortable being around guns. That being said, there are a lot of people that are uncomfortable being around guns. Whether they are are liberal anti-gunners, or people who are neutral, just uncomfortable. There are a lot of people uneducated or ignorant to the ideals and values of an armed society. There are a lot of people who don't mind gun ownership as long as they are not around them. This uncomfortableness may lead property owners to appease their patrons by prohibiting open carry. An uninformed store owner/manager may put a "no weapons" sticker on the door, which would make it against the law to carry concealed or open. I hope I am wrong and you are right, but you cannot dismiss this possible ramification due to a projected percent of the population that may open carry.
