Nice rifle, congrats on both the gun and hunt.
Not to hijack or drift the thread, but is that a russian Baikal?
I'm wanting a SxS, only in 500 S&W. (an affordable SxS).
IIRC, Bailkas came in .30-06 and .45-70, and were around $500??? (at one time)
I'm curious where (what distance) barrels are regulated at?
IIRC, some Baikal's came with an adjustment?
So not to hijack, I'll move my comments/questions to PM, if ok with you? Thanks.
Yes it's a Baikal and it was just over $600 iirc years ago. Triggers are terrible but it's a fun gun. This one came regulated at 55y so I've never messed with it. There's a dial on the bottom and some pins to adjust??? I can't remember for sure. @DRC458 has/had one too.

Thank you, sir, for the info.
Bits & pieces coming back to me now.
55 yds is pretty close to 50 meters, and I think that's where they were set at the factory? That's a good all-around distance for a SxS, so I wouldn't mess with it either.

Yep. Still got it. Haven't shot it in quite some time. I need to drag it back out and make a trip to the range.
I know Champlin Firearms always regulated barrels on double rifles for 60 yards.

I'm a little familiar with Champlin but didn't know where they set their SxS's at.
Believe it not, 60 yds. is where I'd want it, but dunno why that distance? Just seems about right. Thanks.

My neighbor's gson, with his 1st deer, a little spike.
Followed by his 2nd, a nice 8-point.
Both taken with an old worn H&R Handi Rifle in .44 mag, the boy was given but required repair/replacing a couple parts and a little TLC on the old gun.
I was sent these pics as a thank you and that he loves his first deer rifle.
These pics make us both smile.
