We were introduced to Kudzu when we worked our Summer job in the state of Alabama. After first seeing it, I did a bit of research and found that it was first brought to the U.S. as a decorative plant in the 1890's. Then it was later used to plant in areas to control erosion. Unintended consequences of mankind's thinking has now seen the plant be referred to as "the vine that is eating the south."

While its leaves are smaller than what we saw in Alabama, Oklahoma does seem to have it as well. The research stated that the plant can grow as much as one foot a day.
