If anyone ever wants to buy farm raised beef, I strongly suggest contacting your local high school ag teacher and see if any of the kids raising steers don’t want theirs after the show. I guarantee it will be the best beef you’ve ever had. My niece started showing steers 4 or 5 years ago, and my brother and I started getting them processed and splitting the meat. We’re both spoiled now. We generally end up with 250-275# each at a cost of about $6/pound (this year). It was cheaper when we first started, but like everything else, the prices of feed, steers, and processing cost have gone up. In my opinion, it’s still a bargain for what you get.</p></blockquote><p></p>
