I‘ve known for years there’s a lot of inefficiencies in the postal service, but the run around I’m getting just trying to get a P.O. Box is ridiculous. The back story is that we’ve still been getting mail at my old house so have never bothered getting a mail box at our new place, but now we’re looking to sell the old house and need to move our address. The new place has a 911 physical address, but our driveway is at the bottom of a hill and wouldn’t be safe for the mail carrier to stop. My plan was to get a P.O. Box for mail and just use the physical address for packages. I went to the post office last week and was told I needed two forms of proof of my address, so I went back today with my electric and water bill with my physical address on them. The person today said those won’t work, and I need an insurance bill or my deed with the physical address on them. I’m going back to the PO one more time, and if they require me to jump through anymore hoops, I’m just going to have them put up a mail box across from my driveway. The mail carrier’s safety really isn’t my problem anyway.:finger: Ironically, I just got a P.O. Box in Cherokee, OK last month, and there was none of this BS.:anyone: Edit to add that I finally jumped through all the hoops and got my PO box set up. :thumb:
