About the time I lay down, he calls, his coworker (and classmate, HS juniors) had rearended him after they left work. He slowed down for deer crossing, and I guess she didn't see him in time (she was a ways back, not tailgating). The old flatbed took a bit of damage, but did better than her car no doubt.
