Thats a big, bad bone to break. Rehab is going to be a LONG time as you have been told. We have spent the last 6 years going through what you're getting ready to experience with the FIL in dementia and MIL in heavy assisted living. The rehab centers want their money in advance. When MIL passed a few months ago, we are still fighting with them to get that money back they owe us as she passed on the second day of the month. We were 100 miles away making the trip to Broken Arrow at least once a week to visit and wife making nightly phone calls. In the last few months, she didn't know we were even there, but it made my wife know she had done her responsibility to care for the one that brought her into this world. At the end, we stayed with her for three days and nights, finally having to go and sleep somewhere other than a chair. She passed while we were gone, but one of the rehab nurses sent my wife a note that she was there when she passed, so she wasn't alone, and offered a side note that I won't publish that was amazing as it was personal. Dancer, you have a rough time coming. I don't envy you or your wife for the future.
