I felt pretty decent -- for a while. Got Grumpy's oil change ( quarterly check with the doc) done and out of the way. She's tickled with his A1C and so am I. He's doing better and that's all that matters.</p><p></p><p>I stopped by an old job (JoAnn's) to get some elastic and check up on everybody. One of the girls' boyfriend (long term relationship, they had 2 kids together) was killed and the police are saying it wasn't an accident. She is, understandably, beside herself. I cannot imagine. Y'all look at your loved ones tonight just a little bit longer -- and hold them a little bit tighter -- than usual tonight. She says the hardest thing so far is he isn't calling her 100 times a day. I fuss about Grumpy but I'm not sure how I'd handle getting a phone call saying he wasn't gonna come home. <img class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" alt="😢" title="😢" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f622.png" /> These things always happen to OTHER people. Not people we know or family, ya know?? This one is a little too close to home.
