Man alive!! 😮 You WERE VERY LUCKY with that thumb. Those damned spiders ain't nothing to fool around with. I had a bite on my leg WAY back in the day that went from 2 tiny little spots (the bite) surrounded by a little pinkish area -- altogether about the size of a pinhead to a golfball-sized abscess that was so hot a cool washcloth felt like an ice cube and red lines running down my thigh. I was REALLY freaked out and I'm not easily spooked. Even the doctor was kinda poo-pawing me a little bit until he saw it. Then he apologized and said "Yeah ... We probably need to not let that go any longer." I was like "Ya think?!?!" I would have lanced it at home except for 2 things -- I needed some help and Grumpy was like "OH HELLLLLLLL NO!" lol and those red lines had me more than a little worried. I got a horse syringe full of antibiotics, an antibiotic cream, some kind of antibiotic soap to wash it with a couple times a day and 2 weeks of antibiotic pills that were cow-sized. And I took every bit of it and used every bit of the soap and cream. Lol I still have my leg but it's 2 inches shorter than the other one. 🤓
