There was an old pipeline right of way through my pasture when I bought the place in 2015, and over the years, the ruts down the hill have washed out really bad. I did a job a few months ago where I had to get rid of some dirt and old rotted hay/compost, and I used that to fill in the ruts and smooth everything out. I also planted 100# of ryegrass to hold everything in place and keep it from washing again. A power company employee came out this morning to assess all the damage to the lines on my place, and we talked about the best way for the crews to get to where they need to be. The high line runs into my place from the south and is accessible from an oil well road on the neighbors, but the Oncor guy was worried about the bucket trucks getting stuck driving down the high line right of way, so I hesitantly agreed to let them drive through my pasture instead with ONE request. DO NOT DRIVE IN THAT OLD LANE. He even had me put up cones to show the trucks where to drive. I was working on cutting up trees about noon and glanced over to see a line of trucks driving right where I told the not to (I might’ve showed my @ss and raised my voice when I got to them), so now I’ve got to fix the damn ruts they made today and probably need to replant ryegrass. The moral to the story…trust your gut. They’ll be using their own damn right of way from now on and not cutting across my pasture. :censored: BTW…we still ain’t got power. :rolleyes2
