CC company's have always charged merchants a fee, however, some years ago the merchants started trying to pass that fee onto the customer. This is illegal (in Oklahoma as well). All you have to do is inform the merchant that they are not allowed to charge you a fee based on their Merchant Services Agreement. If they refuse to waive it, simply call the CC and report the merchant. Now, this won't help you at the actual point of sale, but it will help to get the merchant's ability to accept CC's revoked. Don't pay the fee......people paying it without protest is the reason this has become common practice.</blockquote>
