It's a lifestyle you have to want to do. I have no interest in traveling, going on vacations, ballgames or eating out. My life is on this 250 acres and that is where I want to be.

I have to agree with Dennis & Cowbaby about being tied to the farm.I had 2 pilot friends when i lived in Tulsa that would call and ask if i want to go to Chicago for pizza or Miami or Los Angeles for a few days and i loved being able to go at the drop of a hat and see something new.Those were the best days of my life.

Having lived, fished and hunted a handful of states I'm good with being somewhat tied.. Having groceries in the backyard is a secure feeling.. Producing that is also a rewarding feeling.. Nearing retirement and having done a fair bit in life I really enjoy the farm life and carrying it on makes us 2nd gen and I'd like to think we could get a 3rd gen out of the grand kids since I know it skipped the kids..
