Google any religion by name along with the word abuse and you'll see there are plenty sites devoted to exposing abuses across every faith. With 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide, by the numbers alone there will naturally be more bad apples than the 40 million Baptists, 16 million Mormons, or 900 million Protestants as a whole. Clearly there is/was something truly despicable going on in PA. Absolutely giving no pass there.. Many years ago I was listening to radio interview with a Catholic Priest who cut through the B.S. and called it out for what it is. "Paraphrasing here" but in a nutshell he said he'd conducted many prison interviews with some really horrific people and had finally come to understand that the real reason they and others "including clerics" do what they do is that they delight in the utter destruction of innocence. It is evil in its most pure form. Hiding behind the Church only makes it that much worse. That's why the rest of us can't understand how someone could do something so abhorrent to anything decent men would ever allow to occupy their mind. Decent men would give up their own lives ten times out of ten to protect innocence. These people are not sick, they are evil and should be dealt with accordingly.
