This. The Catholic Church has paid out somewhere between $1-3 BILLION (depending on source) dollars in sexual assault settlements. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Settlements_and_bankruptcies_in_Catholic_sex_abuse_cases Many of those settlements included utterly immoral non-disclosure clauses. In some cases, the dioceses filed for bankruptcy to limit their financial obligations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Settlements_and_bankruptcies_in_Catholic_sex_abuse_cases Now this is just my opinion. When cases such as these are proven, and a significant contributing factor is the pervasive and widespread criminal activity, coupled with the complicit coverup of the hierarchal organization? Then the community should move to condemn the edifices the abusers used in the commission of their heinous crimes, and raze them to the ground. Obviously the Catholic Church didn't take the *** abuse scandals within their ranks of the 80's, 90's and 00's seriously. Take a few of these: And turn them into this: [Broken External Image] Then perhaps they'll get the message. The real question is why the Catholic Church didn't conduct a full review of every diocese, for possible time bombs after the Boston scandal? Or did they and find the results too horrific to address? You can't convince me that something of this scope and magnitude was unknown for all these years. :( https://www.newsweek.com/boston-globes-2002-spotlight-article-cited-12-pennsylvania-priest-sexual-1075033
