First the article by ds on food plot basics was outstanding so thank you. My question were planning on doing a few plots on land outside Maud. Been looking at the mix blends of clover and chicory, has anybody used these and results, or do you have a better recommendation? The plan is to do about 5 or so small plots(probably less than 1/4 acre). Any advice would be appreciated.

Before you do any thing else, get a soil sample, send it in with a note describing what you are wanting to plant, and follow the direction when you get it back.

I've tried clover in grant county, but we don't get enough rainfall. I've never used chicory, but do plan on trying some next year. A buddy put some down this year, and it grew pretty good in the drought.
