The advantages would be while you are hunting you don't disturb unintended wild life or other people. Not that it's a real inconvenience to people.

The obvious only disadvantage is silencers become more readily available for use by criminals.

You need to research silencers a tad bit more!

How would silencers become more available?

Just because some idiots in the flapper years thought quiet guns were bad, doesn't mean that they are bad today. Just look up OSHA requirements for sound protection!

Only problem I see with allowing silencers for hunting is the idiots who are going to match the sliencer with nightvision, double muffle their vehicle and decide that they don't need permission or a lease. Simply drive the roads or fields or cut a fence and find your trophy. If they can't find a deer, well this farmer won't miss a calf He will just think the coyotes or hogs got it. Moral of the story is all it takes is a couple of idiots to ruin something for everyone. We all know they are out there and an example is the fellow they busted over at Blackwell awhile back. Repaeat offender for spotlighting deer and taking the heads. He's laid off so can't pay fines, judge might not put him in jail since he might not be considered a violent offender. So he could get off with nothing happening. Not much of a discouragement for poaching. Just my opinion.

All of which is illegal so let's continue to punish the people who follow the law!!! A lot of WTF in your post!!! Maybe we should include jail or prison time for poaching if you cannot pay your fines or confiscation of property used including vehicle and firearms!!! If he cannot pay fines he won't be able to afford a new gun.
