[QUOTE="338Shooter, post: 936527, member: 3449"] I can't believe the amount of misinformation and straight up FUDD in this thread. :disappoin Have you ever heard a suppressed rifle fired in person? They still have a 150dB sonic crack that travels with the bullet. Pulling targets on the 600 yard range at the gun club, you hardly ever hear the gun shot, but the crack from the bullet makes ear pro mandatory. It is insanely loud. That is what the animals in the woods are hearing, not the gun shot. Also, there is no way currently to protect your hearing from impulse sounds generated by gun shots and still maintain 100% natural hearing ability that I know of other than suppressors. The electronic muffs are good, but not that good. Here is a video of the camera down range of a 1000 yard shooter. You can hear the SS crack and the gun shot, a suppressor will only take care of the very diminished gun shot.
