If it is a major 4wd problem you will hear it when it is in 4wd. and possibly when not in gear. The electric shift motor or module is an easy fix. Is it even going into 4wd? Not familiar with ford as much as GMC. My 2007 Z-71 has an issue with the push button module getting hot and quits sending signal to the 4wd shift motor. Cost around 35.00 dollars takes about 5 minutes to fix it and it will last about 2 or 3 years. I would venture to say that by the looks of the Pickup that the front transfer and differential are like new. Unless you drive it in 4wd all the time it gets very little use. Takes quite a bit of off road use to wear out the front differential and transfer gears. and you will distinctly hear them howling after they loosen up or have a problem. Stick towards your 9500.00 private sell price. Dealer offer will be 40 to 50 percent of actual sales price. Don't get in a hurry there are New Pickups out there all the time. They been making them on assembly lines since the early 1900's. Famous Sales line is we won't be getting another one after this one is gone, like they quit making them. My answer is well that is very confusing, I just looked on line and seen 100's of the same model listed for a lot less than you. See Ya. Then leave. They will call you back, that is why the first thing they do is get your name and number before they even know what you want. I like to give them a fake name and a number to Pizza hut, if I am just looking around. Jim Swink is my go to.
