PTR 91 - Good Buy, or Stay Away From?

You speak from experience?

Yes, I had mine for 6mos. In that time I ran every cheap ammo I could through it.

No problems with Wolf, Tula or Brown Bear. Along with some other oddball stuff. Any new production commercial ammo should be fine.

I believe PTR has a page on their site that's lists what ammo they don't recommend using.

I have one of the 'problem' serial numbered PTR91s. I have fed it Wolf Steel ammunition and also my reloads. It shoots everything. When I got it, mags were $0.99. I have one of the Hensoldt ZF Model 1's on top of a claw mount in the rifle. I got it from CTD before when they were indeed cheap. The rifle is a really neat setup.

With that being said, I am not a big fan of the roller delayed blowback action.

I paid the same price as the one on CDNN Investments, which is $899.99. The rifle has not shipped yet, so I am going to call them today to see what the deal is.
