PTR 91 - Good Buy, or Stay Away From?

I pick this rifle up today from SSP North. I got 500 rounds of ammo in last night. I'm going shooting this weekend.

I picked it and the magazines up yesterday. I took it home and gave it a good cleaning with Froglube and Hoppes No. 9. I have 31 magazines in total, and most of them were in great condition, with a few still being in their original factory wrapping.

Centerfire Systems did not ship my sling, but I called them today and they said that they would send me a new one right away.

I took that rifle and many others to range. Had 500 rounds loaded up in 25 magazines. I shot about half of them, and the rifle functioned perfectly. No problem at all, and I did not do a "break in" period like the manual suggests. It was a fun shooter, and I think that I will keep it. The women that shot it said that it recoiled too much, but I don't think that it did.

OVerall, very happy, and now I need to find an optic for it.

Probably a red dot, at most 4x optic like Mueller Speedshot.

Can't go wrong with an aimpoint. Have something as rugged as the gun. Of course being a 308, magnified optics wouldn't hurt either.
