Well, at least you all have validated some of my feelings. This is one of those "perfect storm" situations. I had shopped around, and searched message boards, and found that most agree Sports World cannot be beat for price. Before now, I'd seen no real negative comments about them. I did see a few issues with new Marlin quality, but not much, way less than Winchester. I just didn't anticipate anything like this. Now, with Christmas and general panic gun buying, the store is so busy, it is a real challenge to even speak to an employee. If I wanted to even try to pick it up, it would be tough. They do not even answer phone calls. Also, when I called Marlin, they told me to take it there without hesitation. I may try them again over this firing pin/trade show issue. Bet they'd deny it. Still, its impossible deny that Marlin is ultimately responsible. Add onto it that I live 65 miles away, and it really gets tiring. Edit: The more I think about it, the madder I got, so I've now filed a complaint with the BBB. Interestingly Sports World has an A+ with the BBB, with only 2 complaints in the last 36 months. I've read at least a dozen on this site. We're all guilty of letting too much slide.
