In all of the guns that I have purchased only two were defective. Both were Colt SAA, both had timing issues both were purchased a few years apart. I called Colt, explained the issue, sent them to the factory. I guess I need to read the owmer's manual, I'm not sure when a warranty runs out and a gunsmith needs to fix the situation. Colt never told me to take it back to the place of purchase, just send it to them on my own. I know Ruger gives...I think they do....a lifetime warranty. One exception is their Class III Ruger AC556. I was told a few years ago from a Ruger rep. that the factory quit making these guns back in the '70's. They are running out of parts...so no more factory work on that gun. Thank goodness ...again...only two have gone "bad" as new. Older guns the oly issues usually were springs...quick fix. Cohiba
