Sounds like what DHS did with my case also. My ex quit his job every time I garnished his check. Never got a dime of child support ... DHS did take him to court in Virginia ... The result of that little fiasco was his child support was REDUCED ... Yeah, in a state neither me nor my children had ever lived in or even visited DHS let a judge decide to reduce his payments. Not that he ever made those payments either. HOWEVER, DHS gladly came out and investigated ME when I reported a daycare worker for beating another child (NOT one of mine) with a ruler ... and I don't mean spanking ... I mean BEATING ... saw it with my own eyes. You know what everyone's explanation was? Well, that was her child so it was okay ... I know we have some DHS workers on this board and I don't want to imply that I think everyone who works for DHS is worthless but I can say that while I was "in the system" I didn't meet a single person who was willing to do anything other than give me a hard time. Karma is great though ... the SOB is in a home now with drool running down his chin. Closed head injury, motorcycle accident. ******* could afford a brand spanking new motorcycle but wouldn't pay his child support.
