Message: <blockquote data-quote="forindooruseonly" data-source="post: 1325739" data-attributes="member: 13718">I use a Valentine One.  Just be forewarned radar detectors are good ONLY when there is traffic ahead of you, such as on the interstate.  If you are on the road by yourself, there is nothing that can save you.  They turn off the radar and have you instantly.  Also, none of them are effective against LIDAR.  So basically, when it is safest to speed (when noone else is on the road), you are more likely to get a ticket.  When there is plenty of radar fodder in the form of cars on the road that are getting checked in front of you, they are effective.  Saves me tons of money in tickets.  Finding the discipline to slow down by yourself is the hard part.</blockquote>
