So I am gathering the parts to build an AR 450 bushmaster and cannot decide on what I want to do. Son says Red Dot since it will be 100-150 yard gun . What say you OSA?

    I’d do a 1-10 power scope

I will ... after I get some input from some folks who have been there done that. I will probably end up putting some glass on it but the reddot is intriguing . Simple , co-witness and have a buddy with one I can get for cheap....
Having said all that these old eyes sure do like some magnification at 100 yards !!

I keep trying to talk myself into starting a 450 or 458 upper. I am thinking about Sig Romeo and Juliet for it. Should have all I need for a brush rifle for deer, hogs, etc.

Both. Put a scope on it with an offset red dot on the side.

I would go for a 1-8x rifle scope. Been wanting one of them for my x39 brush gun. I’ve played around with various red dots, magnifiers, and illuminated short range sights and just can’t get myself to love any. They’re good, but I just don’t dig them for hunting.
