Two Women Injured ANIMAL CONTROL supervisor Steve Miner wrangles one of two dogs involved in an attack which left two women seriously injured and another dog dead at 4:29 p.m. Sunday. According to victim statements, two dogs escaped from 505 North Twelfth and went into the back yard of resident Sherry Lynn Mabry, 63, who tried to move the dogs back next door. Mabrys small house dog was attacked by intruding dogs. Mabry, along with neighbor Genie Turner, 86, tried to fend off the dogs and suffered multiple injuries to arms, hands and legs. Ponca City police officers were able to contain the attacking dogs back into their own yard while ambulance crews tended to the injured women. Both women were taken to Ponca City Medical Center, with Turner immediately flown by EagleMed air ambulance to an unknown trauma center for further treatment. Mabry underwent surgery overnight and faces additional skin graft surgery, according to daughter Laura Mabry Whiles. The two dogs will remain under observation for rabies and are subject to being euthanized according to Miner. [/QUOTE]
