RESTREPO is a feature-length documentary that chronicles the deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. The movie focuses on a remote 15-man outpost, "Restrepo," named after a platoon medic who was killed in action. It was considered one of the most dangerous postings in the U.S. military. This is an entirely experiential film: the cameras never leave the soldiers; there are no interviews with generals or diplomats. Absolutely awesome. I never had anything but the utmost respect for the combat troops overseas, but this is a whole new level. It's unfortunate these kids(most of them seemed pretty young) will never quite be the same after that experience. I just hope we learn to take better care of them. I appreciate my rear with the gear mil job that much more.

Tried to catch it last night but I fell asleep before it came on. Is it coming back on soon?

I caught about 30 minutes of the middle and it was pretty intense. Had to get some stuff done but did set the DVR to record the 11pm (last night) replay.
