Take the carpet out and clean it, really well. Store it for a couple of weeks. By storing it, you will starve out any remaining bugs as long as there is nothing in the storage area for them to eat. They will eat each other for a while, but with a really good cleaning there won't be many left. If you know someone in the business ask them if they can give it a shot of IGR (insect growth inhibitor) before you store it. That will take care of anything you may miss too.
