If you don't like front strap checkering, I could understand someone not wanting to spend that much. Otherwise, I can't imagine it would be much of a savings to buy a frame without checkering and having it checkered by a smith. The slides don't seem that much higher than the other top choices either.</p></blockquote><p></p>
