My daughter's b-i-l has this ruger with a CVLIFE 4x12x50EG optic system and wants to sell it to me. Other than knowing how to spell Ruger, I know nothing about this setup. He claims only 20rds fired.

It is worth messing with? I see listings for the ruger new around $450, and the optic around $100, but is there any value in this?

I bought the exact rifle about a year ago just because it was on sale at academy (and had a threaded bbl). It is very accurate. I actually like it more than I thought I would. Rifle was around $400.

I've heard nothing but good about the rifles. I really wanted one but there's just no room in the budget for a bolt gun right now.

I don't know anything about that scope.

CVLife is chinese knock off stuff as best I can tell. I have been given some of it by well meaning children trying to give gifts. I had a 4-12x50 on a 22LR and it really helped pick off squirrels.

My Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM had it on it for a while, but I didn't like it for longer shots, had a Bushnell 6.5CM scope that was on sale for a great price, it wears that now. Like it, but it could be better. Unfortunately my eyes are not what they were 30 years ago, so it is good enough.

Be careful CVLife may stand for Corona Virus Life. Better wear your mask.
