Son of a gun! That's something to think about, start with an H&R or CVA single shot in .300 Blackout, and give the Wilson Tactical round a try.

ETA, and thanks for posting the comparison photo of the cartridges as well.

I think it would be a cheaper route, if a fellow already had an AR, to try a barrel. I may be wrong. Wilson's barrels are $275. I see the H&Rs selling locally in the $300 range, and then you'd still need that $140 reamer. Now if a guy already had a 300 Blackout barrel, or an H&R, that's another story.

I have since slept on it, and come to the decision that until Wilson's 7.62x40 gets REALLY mainstream, I believe I will stay with my beat up, cheap, not too terribly heavy AR in 300 AAC Blackout. I have less in it than it would cost me to buy Ruger's rifle anyway!

Now if I can only get it away from my wife.
