I have. Once you do it a few times it's not terribly difficult to field strip a Mk III.

Yes; but the first time I tried to put it back together, after several hours and much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I almost threw the damn gun in the lake. :scream:

Thanks for the guides, I won't do the speed strip Kit, but will be doing a trigger/hammer job and magazine ejection mod with the bushing on my Mark III in another week or so. Never had an issue with field stripping either of mine.

Yeah, it's a real PITA which is why I wanted to share those links. Maybe Dennis could sticky this thread.

Tandemkross has some pretty sweet gear for your MK whatevs or 22/45, too:

I'm tempted to do some xparementon to see if I can get the TK+1 bumper to work in tandem with the Makershot+2 follower/plunger.

P.S. I have the TK Wingmans(+5 bumpers) on my SR-22P. They installed effortlessly and worked flawlessly as I put at least half a brick through them without even hardly realizing it on their first and only(so far) trip to the range. Based on the performance of these thus far, I'd recommend them.

Done. Lots of folks have issues field and detail stripping these pistols, so it worthy of a sticky.

I also have the Majestic arms competition magazines for Mark II and Mark III. They will interchange and work great. Heavier springs. If you think the standard mags are thumb busters these will test you thumb like no other. I use a clip loader from Brownells to save the thumb at matches. (its sold as a clip loader, so don't get on my A$$ :D)

Also have the Majestic Arms bold racker on the Mark III hunter to shave a little time in case of an ammo malfunction to speed up racking the slide.

I did exactly this; it will make a world of difference! Good on Dennis for making this a sticky. Old Bill Ruger designed a remarkably durable and accurate pistol in the Mark series, but damn, he sure did make it a PITA for us to tear it down and put it back together too. Of all the parts in all the guns in the world, I dare say there is no more hated part known to man as the little dangling hangy-down thing called the "hammer strut" on a damn Ruger Mark!
