Rust

I justices up a Colt Detective Special that is in perfect, working condition but has a few spots of rust on it. Anybody got any tips on how to get that off of there with minimal damage to the bleeding or am I doomed to having it refinished?

Oil and bronze wool have worked on light surface rust for me.

Never saw bronze wool. Where do you get it?

The copper scouring pads that are made to scrub pots should work too.

You should be able to get the bronze wool at home depot or ace by the copper soldering supplies.

Four zero, that's 0000, steel wool and gun oil...lightly buff the surface rust.
