I have a friend who inherited one from his dad and it is a shooter. I've fired his several times and it is manageable. I've known several Illinois State Troopers who carried them on duty years ago. ISP adopted them in '68. Reliable and accurate was what they told me. That was also my experience with my friends. I do not know if his is a -2 but it appears most all variants are good firearms.

Only bad thing I can think of is that magazines are expensive and hard to find. Other than that, good weapon.
By far my favorite S&W semi auto. PRO's: Feels great, shoots straight, well made. CON's: Single stack 9mm, and as stated above, mags.
