This one is great, even without the update, the GPS seems to work awesome too (don't know how I managed that). I'm pretty pleased so far and I haven't even tried rooting or anything yet. I believe the whole 'iPhone has more apps' thing will be a moot point as the market share evens out. I also think the iPhone sticks to apple's closed ecosystem, which is great for a lot of people. You won't hear me saying the iPhone sucks or anything like that because it just doesn't. It's a different feel between the two.
