Many are saying the terrible mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary is unprecedented and demanding that we do something radical immediately.

While truly terrible it is hardly unprecedented. Almost twice as many were killed at a school in Bath Township, Michigan. The year was 1927. Evil has been around for a long, long time. Don't be in a hurry to throw away our liberty until you study history.

The Bath School disaster is the historical name of the violent attacks perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe on May 18, 1927 in Bath Township, Michigan that killed 38 elementary school children and six adults, and injured at least 58 other people.Kehoe first killed his wife, fire-bombed his farm and set off a major explosion in the Bath Consolidated School, before committing suicide by detonating a final explosion in his truck. It is the deadliest mass murder in a school in United States history....

As rescuers gathered at the school, Kehoe drove up, stopped, and used a rifle to detonate dynamite inside his shrapnel-filled truck, killing himself, the school superintendent, and several others nearby, as well as injuring more bystanders.

School shootings have been occuring since guns were available. The first known in the US was 1764. There has been a school shooting almost every year since 1863.

I'm not sure how authoritative this article is, but it shows an amazing number of school shootings. Note that many occurred in Europe, where firearms are more tightly controlled.

Is that when they finally made those evil bombs illegal? I know before that everyone had concealed-carry bomb permits and states had that open-carry bomb legislation on their ballots. Thank God they finally saw how crazy it was all getting!
