I got an email about the decision to disqualify “conical” shotgun shells in SASS competition in Oklahoma - apparently folks were using them to speed up reloads especially with SxS shotguns. I’d never heard of them, and found the pics of example conical shells to be interesting. What people will do to try and gain an advantage!

Saw an email on that today. I have never seen anyone use them, including some of the fastest in the country. The AAs look like they only did a starter crimp. The green ones look like that is a factory load with that melted crimp. I guess someone was trying it. Very strange considering most folks reload their own shells or buy the lightest thing they can find be it AAs feather lights or Remy STS lights. I still find it hard to believe many folks were using those when finding shells that shuck easy is the biggest thing most folks I talk to are concerned with.
