I was fishing with my Grandson from Dallas today in upper Kaw lake for sand bass. Had a boat come up the river to the hole we were in. They started throw netting for shad, getting a lot of big gizzard shad. As they drifted down stream, they caught up in a cat fisherman's line on the bank with the trolling motor cutting his line.
Guy on the bank hollered at them that they cut his **&&&% line rather loudly.
I knew two of the guys in the boat. They beached the boat, and the guy throwing the net walked up to the cat fisherman and offered him $5 for the rig he lost by the boat cutting the line. The cat fisherman refused the money, but they talked a bit, and it all resolved in a handshake. He never announced he was a GW.
When the boaters left, I asked him if he knew who those guys were. He didn't, so I told him they were ODW game rangers, not in uniform.
GW or not, that was a great gesture to correct something he did wrong on a personal basis.
