Also, Feinstein was fulfilling her role as well. But if this was a game of "cat-and-mouse",  IMHO Gorsuch is a very good "mouser". This is one of the few times that I have watched confirmation hearings in which the nominee appeared to be doing better than the questioners. What I said about Feinstein in the OP was just a jab at the lib dems long and vitriolic stand against the 2nd Amendment and gun ownership by law abiding US citizens.
