Although shooting home invaders will often get you hailed as a hero in the United States, it’s a different story elsewhere. A couple in Britain is facing charges after the husband shot and wounded alleged burglars. Police in Leicestershire said the Melton Mowbray man fired his legally registered shotgun after men entered his home, hitting two of the four before they fled on foot. He called police, telling them what had happened, and shortly after, one of the suspects called an ambulance from down the road. The man and his wife were detained for "causing grievous bodily harm," along with the four men who were arrested for aggravated burglary. [Source]

In England, the class system is very much alive. The little common man is very much looked down on, just as it has always been in England, even to the point that the law of the land does not allow him to protect himself.

There was a special I saw the other day where everyday English people were fed up not having anyway to protect themselves. It also showed the receivers of long guns being sawed in half and collected as scrap during the 1997 firearms turn in, or should i say confiscation.
