Have a friend that would like some pro instruction on shooting skeet. Anyone know of a place or person in OKC Metro Area?
What level of skeet shooter is he currently? Is he a beginner, intermediate, or advanced shooter? That will help pair him with an instructor. The NSSA has 4 levels of certified instructors. We have 8 Level 1 (Beginner) instructors, 2 Level 2 instructors, and 1 Level 4 instructor at OKCGC. We also have Paul Giambrone, a multi-time World Champion, that comes once a year for 3 days. He will be here in May but his classes are already full.Have a friend that would like some pro instruction on shooting skeet. Anyone know of a place or person in OKC Metro Area?
It’s the leads that are the challenge - 0’ to 4’ as you going around the field. The Oklahoma wind can really throw a wrinkle into the game. The advantage of skeet over the other shotgun sports is that the clays are in the exact same spot over and over all the way around the 8 stations going the same speed.
But once that's figured out, it's the same over and over. I've shot in north of Enid for over 30y, zero wind break. Unless the wind just happens to push one down or up, it's all the same over and over. It’s the leads that are the challenge - 0’ to 4’ as you going around the field.
