Small black flies in house, cannot figure out where they are coming from.

I don't have any indoor plants and I don't have any fruit (like bananas) sitting on a counter top, but this entire summer I've had these tiny black flying things in my house. They don't bite but are attracted to light like any other small stupid bug.

Anyone know what they could be? Or what is typical to find in OK?

I don’t know what they are, but I’ve had them in my house here in TX too.

Possibly. They fly so quickly that I haven't been able to swat one and look at it. I've also not noticed a bunch of dead ones on window sills so not sure if there's just the 1 in my house that has survived this long or if there's a steady supply of them through a window crack somewhere.

We had pantry moths one time, but I don't think you'd describe them as looking like flies. They leave little webs where they find food, we had to clean webs off of everything in the pantry. Hard to get rid of, it doesn't sound like that's what you have but if it is I can tell you what we did for them.

I get a bunch of little gnat looking deals in my home every summer. I hate the little suckers. I try hard to not let bugs get in but when I let my dogs out they are always hovering by the door.

I named em Flats...a cross between a fly and a gnat.
