I got a savage and it was a fail.
Heavy barrel 24" 10fp in .308 with accutrigger.

New from the box there was an issue with the last 1/2" or so of the muzzle..never did group well at 24"

My pencil barrels shot better and those are 100ATR rifles.

Sometimes you get a lemon.. other times you get a diamond.

Roll the dice on factory gun purchasing or buy barrels and parts and build one,, and hope you have better luck.

That new shooter sure looks nice Jedabug, looks like it would feel good in hand also.

Shoulda got a Savage

I purchased several Savage model 10TR. I think a total of 5? maybe 4. Out of those not 1 was without a problem. Tight chambers that needed reamed out to fit FACTORY ammunition (Every one of those 4). Not one was shipped with the included scope rail (Savage mailed them to me). 1 rifle had the threads on it so messed up from the factory they included the thread protector in a little baggy inside the rifle box. (Savage fixed this) These were all minor things, but very irritation especially when a quick google search turned up the commonality of these issues between many people. All the rifles were fixed by Savage and sold.

I most likely will never buy another Savage again.

I knew you converted it to the Lapua.
What is the load you are using..How does it act past 100 yards?
I have been thinking of something in the 6.5 Like I need another.
What action did you keep the same one? and barrel did you end up with in the end..What bolt etc?

36.5 or varget under a 140gr berger Hybrid. And it's 10 moa flatter at 1k than a .308. Same bolt and action, brushed bolt to avoid piercing primers. And a 22 inch benchmark 1:8 twist medium Palma barrel
