I have been using the Harbor Freight charger for a couple of years now without over charging any small batteries in the mower, tractor, boat, and ATV. It's a float charger, so it won't overcharge. https://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Battery-Trickle-Charger-Cen-Tech/dp/B013XRK9H0/ref=asc_df_B013XRK9H0?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80470624769027&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584070153025019&psc=1 We use solar chargers on all of our outside security cell phone cams, and trail cams in the deer woods. Used to drive 90 miles round trip every couple of weeks to change batteries, but no more! One thing I've found out is to use lithium batteries for rechargeables. Not Ni-cad. The Ni-cad only charge to 1.3 volts vs the 1.5 volts for the lithium.
